Dr Nicole Rice is the Education Director for Grain Foods CRC. She
is currently the Curator of the Australian Plant DNA Bank and manages commercial services and clients.
Nicole holds a Bachelor Degree in Agricultural Science (Hons I) and a PhD in Agricultural Science from Sydney University. Her PhD topic was in the area of the relationship between wheat protein and white salted noodle quality. Nicole has also been involved in various Grain Foods CRC projects establishing core collections of genetic material for use by research and industry. This work then extends to the evaluation and assessment of the potential of wild crop relatives. She is interested in the genetic variation in the starch genes of
Hordeum sp. and
Oryza sp.
